CAREY OLSEN: Carey Olsen Asia achieves strong rankings in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2025 Guide

Carey Olsen Asia has maintained its strong position in the offshore legal market, achieving impressive rankings in the Chambers Asia-Pacific 2025 Guide. The firm retained its Band 2 ranking in the Offshore category and saw a number of partners in the Hong Kong and Singapore teams improve their individual rankings.

Singapore partner James Noble has moved up to Band 2, while Hong Kong partner Tim Haynes maintained his Band 2 ranking in their respective Dispute Resolution and Litigation practices.

James Noble was described as “a great leader with a very strong sense of the big picture and the client’s commercial objectives but at the same time, he has an eagle eye for detail”. Tim Haynes was praised by clients as “a super experienced practitioner, balancing technical excellence against sage commercial advice about whether a particular suit or application is worthwhile”.

Michael Padarin, Hong Kong managing partner, moved up a band in the 'Offshore: Corporate & Finance' category and Anthony McKenzie, Singapore managing partner, retained his long-standing ranking in the 'Offshore: Corporate & Finance' category.

Hong Kong partners Jeremy Lightfoot and Matthew Watson also secured rankings for their expertise in Dispute Resolution and Litigation.

Client feedback for the firm was particularly strong this year, praising Carey Olsen for providing "timely, clear and actionable advice on complicated topics with referenced support". Another client stated that "the team is able to provide insight into the pros and cons of the various offshore jurisdictions.
