The OECD has praised the efforts of offshore jurisdictions and so-called ‘tax havens’ to become more open after 300 information exchange contracts were signed last year, Accountancy Age is reporting.

The multinational body described the agreements as "one of the big success stories of the G20."

The number of agreements "skyrocketed" in the run-up to a London summit last April summit, before G20 leaders agreed to "stand ready to deploy sanctions" against non-co-operative jurisdictions.
